Seventeen 90+ DO Valencia wines in Guía Peñín 2010

I try not to be a slave to points ratings, there are so many other factors that are crucial to how much you enjoy a wine — not least who you’re drinking it with. But I just came across the list of the 17 Denominación de Origen Valencia wines that have been top-rated by the latest (2010, published in October 2009) edition of Spain’s most influential wine guide, the Guía Peñín.

For the record, here are the seventeen, plus prices, mainly from Alforins.com:

Congratulations to Oscar Priego, the young winemaker at El Angosto. He’s a good guy, and he loves to talk, so this is something that he can really talk about. And to the other bodegas. Why not try a few and see if you agree with the ratings or not?
